Ekiti State gets paid only N9.6 billion out of N29 billion allocation

The Ekiti State governor ,Ayodele Fayose has complained that the Federal government only paid N9.66 billion out of the N29 billion which was requested by the State.His Chief press secretary, Idowu Adelusi made the clarification in Ado-Ekiti saying that an application was made to pay August and September salaries. The 16 local governments also applied for N5.6 billion, but only got N991 million which the Central Bank of Nigeria later clarified that 14 other states are experiencing the same problem.
Adelusi said it had become necessary to set the records straight due to insinuations that the government did not want to pay salary arrears and gratuity of retirees.He siad they have been experiencing a shortfall in allocation of N500 million.
