CHINA PLEDGES AID OF $12 BILLION TO POOR AFRICAN COUNTRIES

China has finally come of age, and has pledged $2 billion to poor countries as aid. Chinese President Li Jingpin said at a summit on development that the fund is the initial investment, which is to be followed by another $12 billion in UN defined least developed country fund, which are mostly in Africa by 2030. He also promised a debt relief for least developed countries.
In January , the Chinese leader has pledged an investment of $250 billion over the next ten years in Latin America , long considered to be under the sphere of influence of the US. The UN set a goal of ending extreme poverty by 2030, a move which will cost $5 trillion a year.

Xi said that China would launch an assistance fund for developing countries with an initial investment of $US2 billion.
