The Accountant General of the Federation, Mr Ahmed Idris said yesterday that more than 600 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the Federal government have adopted the Treasury Single Account (TSA). He said 600 out of the 900 have already keyed in and that the aim of the policy was to assist the MDAs and the Government work more efficiently, making cash available to the government in a centralized and consolidated manner.
“We are expecting them to come and enlist, enrol and identify users that will participate and key into their individual sub-accounts so that they can utilize their resources based on their budgets’’ he said. President Muhammadu Buhari had given a directive for all MDAs to migrate to the TSA before September 15 or be sanctioned. The AGF explained that the process experienced some hitches at inception but they are being tackled now with his office and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) working closely together.
