Volkswagen has named a new Ceo. His name is Mathias Merller and he was the former Ceo of Porshe. Speaking today, Mueller has pledged to win back the trust of customers.“My most urgent task is to win back trust for the Volkswagen
Group, by leaving no stone unturned and with maximum transparency, as
well as drawing the right conclusions from the current situation,” he
said.However, despite confirming that 5 million cars were affected instead of 11 million touted, the share price of the company still dipped.
Executives have been accused of manipulations at the Headquarters in Wolfburg and the chain of command of those involved stretched from US to Germany. The US authorities have said they will subpoena VW, while this is spreading and beaming the spot light on other auto companies, the European Union has ordered spot checks on cars. The scandal is already engulfing employees of VW as the company has suspended some of it's workers pending investigation and says it has started a restructuring exercise.
