Ladipo spare parts market brought down
Officials of the Lagos State Government have demolished Ladipo spare parts market in Mushin. On my way towards Fatai Atere in Mushin yesterday morning i actually noticed scores of police vans preparing the way for the demolition of the Market.Bulldozers were located at the premises with many of the traders constituting a nuisance and making the area unmotorable. The market was eventually brought down at 4.30 pm.
The information around is that the demolition is to pave way for the construction of a mega market which would help give a proper structure to the trading activities. The local government and traders have been going back and forth on the demolition with a court injunction obtained by them to stop the government's plan. Some of the traders alleged that the government of the day is repaying them for not supporting them in the last elections.
