Ondo State Partners with Spagnvola of Spain to deliver premium chocolate factory in Idanre

A new dawn is upon the horizon, and this is evident in Ondo state as the government has set up a chocolate production factory to compete with imports. The production would begin in April 2016 by establishing a modern chocolate factory to process premium quality coaoa beans. This is a very positive development which would help to salvage the dwindling oil revenue which is also worthy of emulation by other states. The news to establish the factory in Idanre was communicated today by the commissioner of information, Mr Kayode Akinmade.
He said the factory would utilise and process the facilities of the Cocoa Catalytic Factory in Idanre and added that the factory would be run by the state’s cocoa project foreign technical partner, Spagnvola Chocolatier of Spain, with the capacity to produce enough for local consumption and for export.
The Chairman, Ondo Cocoa Revolution project Dr Oyebade said also that there are many health benefits derivable from the intake of cocoa, especially since the chocolate will be produced using sugarcane and other natural sources of sugar it will be healthy for intake. According to him, the Governor Dr Segun Mimiko has promised that all school children will be entitled to one bar a week till his tenure expires.
