OSINBAJO VS EL RUFAI

The noise continues about the bad blood and splashes already generated in the cabinet of President Buhari. The tussle is between no other than the number 2 man Vice President Yemi Osibajo and Kaduna Governor El Rufai.
Both are considered intellectual, one a product of a generous quota system and the other a meritorious recipient of the coveted designate "Magna cum Laude".The VP certainly seems to have the upper hand being a core technocrat. However it seems the President  may have initially encouraged some of the disrespect the Kaduna Governor is meting out to the VP.

It has been reported about encounters between them, but one incident which stands out happened sometime ago  in a meeting of Buhari’s kitchen cabinet in Aso Rock, Governor El Rufai (who is known as the de facto VP) in trying to disagree with Osinbajo’s contribution raised his voice and insulted the VP in the meeting. To everybody’s chagrin, Osinbajo got upset, told El Rufai off and told the President, ‘I am an elected Vice President of this country, I will not sit here while an ordinary governor insults me in your presence. I deserve some respect.’
“Osinbajo, then, stormed out of the meeting angrily, leaving the President and others present stunned.
“Still not done, El Rufai who was ruffled by the unexpected action of the VP told President Buhari, ‘If he had respect for you, he would not have walked out on you.’
“Mr. President responded coldly and quietly as the scene unfolded, and was mute as Governor El Rufai tried to deflect blame for what happened. I honestly thoughT this was a thing of the past... Lips sealed.
