BAYELSA STATE GOVERNOR SERIAKE DICSON SET TO DECLARE FOR SECOND TERM.
Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson is set to declare his ambition to run for a second term. His colleagues in the PDP governor's forum have thrown their weight behind him.Ondo State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, will lead 12 other governors to attend Dickson's formal declaration of for a second term in office tomorrow. Dickson will host a special meeting of the PDP governors scheduled to take place in the Government House today. The meeting will precede the declaration where some far-reaching decisions are expected to be taken not only about the state of things in the party as it repositions for the future but also on the common agenda for the governor’s declaration and success of the campaign. “From the look of things, the PDP governors are set to storm Yenagoa in full force. You know Bayelsa State holds a lot of significance for the PDP as a political party. It is not just a state to be retained but you will also realise that it is the home state of the former President Goodluck Jonathan. So there is so much at stake and they are determined to make the governor’s declaration a show of its own. I think the PDP governors want to send out a strong signal of their readiness to keep Bayelsa firmly in the grip of the PDP and as such their presence will be felt on Tuesday in Yenagoa” Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson his chief press secretary said. However, the former senior special assistant to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan on domestic affairs, Dr. Waripamowei Dudafa, has once again advised Dickson to stop day-dreaming, insisting that the governor will never make a second coming to the Government House as he had been rejected by the people. He advised Dickson to stop dissipating his energy for a second coming as governor of the state, saying that it is an exercise in futility.
