AMBODE RELEASES 2500 LAND TITLES IN LAGOS.
Lagos State Government has released 2,500 Certificates of Occupancy to property owners in the state.
Governor Akinwumi Ambode, who signed the documents on Tuesday, said the owners must start getting the documents as from Wednesday (today).
The Executive Secretary in the state’s Lands Bureau, Mr. Olukayode Ogunnubi, who disclosed Ambode’s directives, said the development was in line with the governor’s effort to clear the backlog of C of O that was carried over from the previous administration.
He said, “This present government wants Lagosians to maximise the economic benefits derivable from ownership of property as evidenced by obtaining their legal titles.
“That’s what we are trying to achieve and that is the reason the governor decided to clear the backlog. Now, we do not have pending C of O on our table.”
Ogunnubi said the development would enable owners to leverage on the C of O for collateral to obtain loans from financial institutions.
